Drosera spatulata is a carnivorous plant from South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The species is characterized by a large intraspecific variability, so it is possible to find many different forms, even in cultivation. The one I sell is particularly durable and adapts well to many conditions. If cultivated outside with many hours of direct light it becomes red, forming compact plants (3-4cm). In shady conditions, it produces very large plants (even 6 cm in diameter) while maintaining a pink color on the tentacles. In terrarium it grows lush though remaining small in size.
During my experience with this plant, I have seen some difficulties only at very high temperatures (over 40 °) with little air circulation, for the rest, even in winter, it maintains vitality if the temperature is higher than 10 °.
It can also give 4 blooms a year and the flowers are capable of self-fecundation.
It adapts well to many types of substrate, provided that it is not exclusively provided with rainwater or demineralized water. It is a simple plant, suitable for beginners, but it can also give great satisfaction to the most experienced growers.
The plants I sell will be shipped with bare root in padded envelope.
